Battle in the Boro
 
THIS  IS  THE  FIRST  OF  SEVERAL  LARGE  EVENTS  PLANNED  BY  PRIDE  &  GLORY  DURING  2008.  tHIS EVENT  WILL FEATURE  FIGHTERS  FROM  pOLAND (WARSAW  MMA  CLUB)  AS  WELL  AS  FIGHTERS  FROM ACROSS  THE  UK.

Pride & Glory are back on the big stage with a 1200 seater event planned for 23rd Feb 2008 at the Eston Sports Academy in Middlesbrough.  This event will feature some of the UK's top fighters facing opponents from Poland, Sweden and other parts of Europe in what promises to be a night of explosive MMA Action.  Full fight card to follow: .......... In December 2007, after much saving and by popular demand, a Cage was commissioned.   This Cage is currently being manufactured, and will be delivered for use at the 'Battle in the Boro' on 23rd Feb 2008.  At the moment negotiations are under way with several businesses who have stated an interest in being sponsors for the Cage and for the Pride & Glory events.  More news to follow.............

ALL Fighters at Pride & Glory are paid thier expences, be they Amateur, Semi-Pro or Pro Fighters.  We are not here to get rich, but to promote MMA and work with fight teams to develope MMA in the North East of the UK

Lightweight - over 145 lbs (65kg) to 155 lbs (70kg)
Welterweight - over 155 lbs (70.5kg) to 170 lbs (77kg)
Middleweight - over 170 lbs (77.5kg) to 185 lbs (84kg)
Light Heavyweight - over 185 lbs (84.5kg) to 205 lbs (93kg)
Heavyweight - over 205 lbs (93.5kg) to 265 lbs (120kg)


Bout duration:

All non-championship bouts shall be three rounds.
All championship bouts shall be three rounds.
Rounds will be three minutes in duration, with a one minute.
A one-minute rest period will occur between each round.


Fouls:

No head strikes at all.
Butting with the head.
Eye gouging of any kind.
Biting.
Hair pulling.
Fish hooking.
Groin attacks of any kind.
Putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent.
Small joint manipulation.
Striking to the spine or the back of the head.
Striking downward using the point of the elbow even to the body.
Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea.
Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh.
Grabbing the clavicle.
Stomping a grounded opponent.
Kicking to the kidney with the heel.
Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.
Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area.
